Alzheimer Cafe at Sway

At last, a place for people with dementia, their families, carers and professionals to meet in a convivial atmosphere, with refreshments, snacks and a great atmosphere. The aim of the cafe is to share information and knowledge in a supportive and understanding environment while providing a networking opportunity for professionals to improve themselves through education.  The underlying objective is to work towards helping dementia sufferers live life to its full potential through the support of others.

The aim of this Alzheimer Café is not to provide just a support group, but a learning environment where people can be educated to handle their daily lives better. Consequently the invitation stretches beyond those suffering with Dementia and the cafè opens its doors to families, friends, and professionals wanting to know more about dementia in all its forms, including Alzheimers.

The first Alzheimer Cafè at Shelbourne was a great success with almost 30 people in attendance.  The next meeting will take place on the 19th of July at Beeton’s Restaurant inside Shelbourne Senior Living and all visitors are welcome. If you would like to book your place please contact Luke or Sue at Alzheimer Cafè directly via email alzheimercafe@sslcare.com, or through The Shelbourne on 01590 684900.
